Candidates will be able to fill their application form by visiting UGC NET official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. UGC NET exam is conducted for Junior Professor Fellowship and Assistant Professor in universities and other higher education institutions across the country. UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year in June and December. 9.45 lakh candidates had applied for the UGC NET December 2023 exam.
There will be a big change this time
This time you will also be eligible to do PhD through UGC NET exam. Till now, the successful candidates in the UGC NET examination were divided into two types of categories – the first category included those candidates who were eligible for JRF and Assistant Professor recruitment. In JRF, students also get fellowship for five years along with admission to Ph.D. Universities still give preference for admission to PhD to students who have passed JRF and NET, but those who have not passed these have to wait for the PhD entrance examination of the respective university. But now UGC is going to include a third category in the NET exam under a major change. The third category will be those candidates who will be eligible to do PhD.
From June 2024, along with the first two categories, the third category will be of PhD. Those registered in this category will be qualified for PhD, but will not be qualified for the appointment of JRF and Assistant Professor. That means students who are not able to qualify JRF or NET can now get the score for PhD. Universities will be able to offer admission if the student qualifies for PhD.
Opportunity to become a professor without doing UGC NET and PhD, bumper recruitment in the famous university of Delhi.
Now there will be these three categories of successful candidates in UGC NET
Category-1 will include those candidates who will be eligible for JRF, Assistant Professor along with PhD admission.
– Category 2 will include those candidates who will be considered eligible for becoming Assistant Professor and PhD admission.
Candidates included in Category 3 will only be eligible for PhD admission.
