Authorities have apprehended a 35-year-old individual who, while working as a maintenance worker, engaged in the disturbing act of secretly recording and photographing individuals at a residential complex in Downtown Long Beach.
On Wednesday, he was taken into custody on suspicion of 30 misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy. Charging documents reveal numerous individuals who have been affected. According to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department, detectives suspect that there may be additional information.
The worker has been identified as Jeremy Gonzalez, a resident of Los Angeles. According to a representative for the property owner, he was employed at the Camden Harbor Apartments located near Ocean Boulevard and Pacific Avenue.
Gonzalez is no longer employed at the Camden Harbor Apartment. He was terminated in December for reasons unrelated to the current investigation, as confirmed by Julie Keel, vice president of marketing for Camden.
Camden only became aware of the accusations against Gonzalez months later and promptly reported them to the police.
