We are talking about Anukriti Sharma, who left a successful job at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to join the Indian Police Service (IPS). Let us know about his story.
Group ‘A’ officers of India, including the IPS cadre, are selected through the Civil Services Examination (CSE) administered by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). From Jaipur, Rajasthan, Anukriti Sharma joined the 2020 batch of UPSC candidates. His educational career started from Indo Bharat International School, Jaipur and later he took admission in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata to pursue Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) degree.
There was a turning point in Anukriti’s life in 2012 when she got an offer to do PhD in volcano research in Houston at Rice University. When he completed his Ph.D. When she was studying, she was offered a job at a good position in NASA Institute. Where he had to contribute to research on volcanoes. A salary of Rs 2 lakh was given every month for this post. The salary and job from NASA was good, but despite all this he decided to return to India and started preparing for UPSC to become an IPS.
The journey of becoming an IPS officer was not easy for him. He started preparing for UPSC in the year 2014 after which he gave the preliminary examination in the year 2015. In which he performed well but he did not do well in the main examination. She failed in the first attempt and had to face failure in the second attempt also. After failing in two attempts, she reached the interview round in her third attempt, but was not selected. In such a situation, she was unsuccessful in the third attempt. She had passed the UPSC exam in the fourth attempt, but could not fulfill her dream of becoming an IPS. After which he tried to appear in the UPSC exam twice to become an IPS and his years of hard work paid off in the fifth attempt. He had passed the exam with 138th rank and fulfilled his dream of becoming an IPS officer.
