SpiceJet will soon start flights to Lakshadweep and Ayodhya
Ajay Singh told the shareholders at the company’s AGM on Wednesday that between Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep last week and the dispute between India and Maldives, the search volume for the island is seeing a manifold increase. In such a situation, in view of the demand for flights to Lakshadweep among the tourists, the airlines are going to start their flights to the Union Territory using the rights under the connectivity scheme. Along with this, in view of the demand for flights to Ayodhya, the company has said to start flight operations from here also.
This island had come into discussion after PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep last week. PM had shared many pictures of this beautiful island on social media, after which some ministers of Maldives made derogatory comments against PM Modi and India. After this, tensions between the two countries have increased and many travel websites have also stopped booking for Maldives. Along with this, people are being requested on social media to go to Lakshadweep instead of Maldives.
